I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
